APAR is the acronym for the Peruvian Association of Rock Art, a non-profit civil institution founded in Lima in September 2007. APAR has a Legal Status and is a cultural institution recognized by Peruvian law. The main objectives of APAR are the defense, protection, investigation and responsible dissemination of Peruvian rock art. APAR periodically conducts scientific and dissemination conferences, visits directed to the field, and periodically publishes relevant information on this archaeological material. APAR has a website in google groups where it has an open email distribution list and maintains communication with its members,
APAR is an eminently academic institution and is a member of the International Federation of Rock Art Organizations (IFRAO), an institution that brings together the most important rock art organizations in the world. APAR has a Board of Directors composed of the following:
